WHO WE ARE
Great Lakes Initiative for Human Rights and Development (GLIHD) is a local non-governmental, human rights-based and public interest organization duly registered and operating in Rwanda since 2011.
GLIHD is committed to advancing human rights in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region. It operates in various areas, including strategic litigation, social justice, research and advocacy, human rights awareness, monitoring and reporting, as well as capacity building for other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Our mission is to contribute towards respect, promotion and fulfillment of the rights of individuals and groups through human rights monitoring and advocacy of both national and international human rights normative frameworks in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region.
